1. Acceptance of Terms
By using VeriPop's proof of payment verification service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
2. Description of Service
VeriPop provides AI-powered verification of proof of payment screenshots. We analyze images to detect potential fraud and provide verification verdicts:
- RELEASE - Our checks passed. We found no obvious signs of tampering.
- HOLD - We detected potential issues. Do not release goods without further verification.
- VERIFY - Manual verification recommended. Contact the buyer to confirm details.
3. Decision Support, Not Decision Making
VeriPop is a decision support tool, not a decision maker.
- We help you identify potential fraud, but you make the final business decision.
- A RELEASE verdict means our automated checks passed - it does not guarantee payment will clear.
- A HOLD verdict means we flagged potential issues - it does not prove fraud occurred.
- Always confirm funds have cleared in your bank account before releasing goods.
4. No Guarantee Against Fraud
VeriPop cannot guarantee detection of all fraudulent POPs.
- Fraud techniques evolve constantly. We update our detection systems regularly, but new methods may not be immediately detectable.
- AI-generated or sophisticated forgeries may pass our checks.
- We provide a layer of protection, not absolute protection.
- The golden rule: Always check your bank account to confirm payment before releasing goods.
5. Your Responsibilities
As a VeriPop user, you agree to:
- Always verify funds in your bank account before releasing goods, regardless of verdict
- Use VeriPop as one part of your fraud prevention, not your only protection
- Report suspected fraudulent POPs to help protect the merchant community
- Not rely solely on VeriPop verdicts for high-value transactions
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- VeriPop shall not be liable for any losses resulting from fraudulent transactions, whether or not VeriPop issued a RELEASE verdict.
- VeriPop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- You acknowledge that fraud prevention is inherently imperfect and that VeriPop provides assistance, not guarantees.
7. Pricing and Payment
Pricing is displayed on our pricing page. Payments are processed via Paystack. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Submit fraudulent POPs to test or exploit our systems
- Use the service to facilitate illegal activities
- Attempt to reverse-engineer our AI or detection systems
- Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access
9. Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of VeriPop after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
